Tuesday was a competitive event night in Gotham. MoMA, Guggenheim, and Museum of Moving Image all held respective parties but massive, Sandy delayed Whitney Museum of American Art Gala and Studio Party held its own. The two-part event raised $2.7 million in part thanks to Microsoft. Guests included after-party chair Michael Avedon, Andres Serrano, George Condo, KAWS and Julia Chiang, Adam Green, and Glenn Ligon. Nate Lowman was a very special DJ and the man wasn’t kidding around - he brought a box of vinyls.
